The British Golf Industry Association (BGIA) is celebrating strong results from the Unleash Your Drive in Clubs pilot programme, delivered in partnership with the Golf Foundation and supported by the BGIA’s Grow Golf Fund.
The 2025 pilot has demonstrated the significant impact of investing in young people and helping them take their first steps into golf, enabling them to experience the wide-ranging benefits the sport brings to their confidence, physical health and overall wellbeing.
Key outcomes include:
These results underline the value of creating strong, supported pathways between schools and golf clubs, helping the next generation discover a lifelong connection to the game, opening up future opportunities both on and off the course.
With the success of this year’s pilot, plans are now being made to expand the programme to 75 clubs in 2026, with a greater focus on engaging more girls and strengthening joint communications between the BGIA and the Golf Foundation.
BGIA Chair Martin Wild said:
“This programme shows exactly what targeted investment via the Grow Golf Fund can achieve. By giving children early access to golf, we are not only introducing them to a sport they can enjoy for life but also supporting their physical health, confidence and broader personal development. These young people are the future of our game, and we are proud to help open the door to the opportunities golf provides.”
The BGIA looks forward to working closely with the Golf Foundation and its members to continue growing the game and inspiring the next generation of golfers.
