The BGIA is pleased to announce that their annual charity Golf Day last October raised £4163.43.
BGIA Chair, Martin Wild says: “The money raised is being donated to The Golf Foundation, a charity that changes the lives of young people using the power of golf. Huge thanks go to Woburn Golf & Country Club for hosting and for helping us to raise money for a great cause. Their generosity means that many more children will be able to access golf and develop a love for the game. “Following a break due to Covid restrictions, the BGIA Golf Day is firmly back on the golfing calendar and we’re already planning this year’s event. We are looking forward to seeing the industry unite once again to embrace the opportunity to grow the game.”
Brendon Pyle, CEO of The Golf Foundation, says: “The Golf Foundation is extremely grateful to the British Golf Industry Association and its members for their generous donation following the return of its popular Golf Day to Woburn. We greatly value the support of the Golf Industry in helping us to introduce more young people to golf from all backgrounds, creating golfers. We are also excited to be working with Martin Wild and his Executive Board at the BGIA in developing a wider careers offer for young people that will benefit the wider industry as well as encouraging more diversity within our sport”.
Jason O’Malley, Woburn Golf Club’s MD, adds: “Woburn Golf Club was delighted the BGIA Annual Golf Day was a success and that such a generous sum of money was raised for The Golf Foundation, a charity that Woburn has supported for many years. Having hosted the BGIA Golf Day at Woburn annually since 2003, we were sorry that due to Covid-19 it could not go ahead in 2020, but we were pleased to once again welcome members of the BGIA and host the Golf Day in 2021.”
